plexiglas fabrication
Thirty-eight benchmark critical measurements for a single tank reflected by plexiglas have been completed during the quarter.^These measurements involved critical solution height determinations for three different vessels (two aluminum and one steel), with three uranyl nitrate solution concentrations, and two locations within a 20.3-cm-thick plexiglas enclosure.^Measurements on arrays of cylinders within the plexiglas enclosure have begun and will be completed during the next quarter.^KENO-IV (used with Hansen-Roach cross sections) calculations on the minimally-reflected single tank measurements and concrete-reflected 16-cylinder array measurements are discussed.^Work progresses on the fabrication of fixtures for the 4.5 percent-enriched uranium oxide experiments to be performed later this year.^Problems associated with the pressing of fuel pieces are near solution.^The measurement control program on solution concentration determination continues.^Results for the series of benchmarks which are under way should be completed by the end of the next quarter.
