1101.12.2 Each cleanout shall be installed so that it opens to allow cleaning in the direction of flow of the soil or waste or at right angles thereto, and except in the case of wye branch and end-of-line cleanouts, shall be installed vertically above the flow line of the pipe.

604.1 Water distribution pipe, building supply water pipe and fittings shall be of brass, copper, cast iron, CPVC, galvanized malleable iron, galvanized wrought iron, galvanized steel, PEX or other approved materials. Except as provided in Section ((604.13)) 604.14, asbestos-cement, ((CPVC,)) PE, PVC, ((or)) PEX-AL-PEX or PE-AL-PE water pipe ((materials)) manufactured to recognized standards may be used for cold water building supply distribution systems outside a building.
